Northgate IT Consultancy is Now Open for Business

We're excited to announce the official launch of Northgate IT Consultancy — bringing senior IT advisory and delivery expertise to Philippine businesses of all sizes.

By Northgate IT Consultancy

Most Philippine startups and SMEs run on technology they did not have time to plan. Email, file sharing, the office network, the company website and the systems holding customer data were often set up quickly by whoever was available, and nobody senior has looked at them since. Meanwhile, clients ask harder questions about security, the Data Privacy Act of 2012 sets real obligations, and every vendor quote seems to come with jargon that is hard to judge.

Northgate IT Consultancy has been set up to help with exactly that. We are now open for business, and this post explains who we are, why we exist, how we work and how to get started.

Who we are

Northgate IT Consultancy is a DTI-registered business (Business Name No. 8570855, registered on 21 October 2026), owned and operated by founder Ron Ron V. Gascon.

Ron brings more than 16 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, IT governance and compliance, across healthcare, renewable energy and other environments. That work has included frameworks and standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 for information security, the NIST cybersecurity guidance, ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and ITIL practices for running IT services. Where a project needs hands-on building, the founder works with a team that can build, so you get senior oversight and practical delivery together.

Why Northgate exists

Large enterprises have security officers, IT governance teams and architects who review every major technology decision. Smaller teams usually have none of that, yet they face many of the same risks: phishing, ransomware, data leaks, failed backups and projects that overrun.

We believe smaller teams deserve the same calibre of senior IT and security guidance that is usually reserved for large organisations, delivered in a form that fits a business of five to two hundred people. That means practical recommendations, sized to your actual risk, explained so that owners and managers can make confident decisions.

How we work

Northgate offers two kinds of engagement. You can use one, the other, or both.

Advisory

We assess and recommend. Your own team, or a builder you choose, makes the changes. Advisory services include:

  • Security Baseline & Data Privacy Readiness: where you stand on core security controls and your Data Privacy Act obligations, and what to fix first.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Review: a clear look at your Microsoft 365, cloud services, network, servers and backups.
  • Startup Tech Roadmap: a plan for which systems to put in place, and in what order, as you grow.
  • Vendor & Developer Quote Review: an independent read of proposals before you sign, so you know what you are paying for and what is missing.
  • Monthly Advisory: ongoing access to senior guidance for decisions as they come up.

Build

When you want us to deliver, we build. That covers infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud, Microsoft 365, backups and CCTV, and web applications built from scratch. Every build is scoped in writing and delivered in milestones, so you can see progress and approve each stage.

Our principles

  • Plain language. We explain what we find and why it matters without hiding behind jargon. Every recommendation should be something you can understand and act on.
  • Vendor-neutral. We recommend what fits your business, not what earns a commission. If the right answer is to keep what you have, we will say so.
  • Written scope before any work. You will know what is included, what is not, and what the deliverables are before anything starts.
  • Privacy first. We treat your data, and your customers' data, with the same care we recommend to you, and we build privacy into designs from the start rather than adding it later.

What to expect from this blog

We will publish practical guides for owners and managers without a senior IT person: migrating to Microsoft 365, choosing CCTV, picking a payment gateway, planning for downtime, and more. Each one is written to be useful on its own, whether or not you ever work with us.

Where to start

If something in your technology setup has been nagging at you, whether it is a security question from a client, an upcoming vendor decision, or a sense that your backups have never been tested, that is a good place to begin. Write down the one or two issues that worry you most and who in your business currently looks after them.

Every Northgate engagement starts with a free 30-minute call, where we listen, ask questions and suggest sensible next steps, with no obligation. If that sounds useful, book a free 30-minute call. We look forward to hearing from you.
